Yeah.. Mind you, underestimate from previous bill, kids round several times multiple showers, tumble drier on constant, special licence to heat all the air in Nantwich in aid of cold elderly citizens. Even so itβs scary. My estimate for the year has come in at Β£3,500. Makes you think twice about solar panels

I know but we've closed off a couple of rooms and sacked the servants π Candles are ruinously expensive, I've already explored that idea... My plan for next winter is just to wear my big coat in the house. Will seem weird at first but I'll soon get used to it. Like when you first put a collar on the cat.

My daily standing charges have gone up 25% Gas unit price more than doubled and elec unit price almost doubled as well. We used to be roughly 1500-1800 a year depending on winter temps, now they're quoting 4200, ok I realise it's partly due to getting a quote during the time of most use but even so π

Β£92 monthly for us. I suspect this could be improved. I'm insulated until August and then my deal runs out. It will be interesting to see how my bill increases.

I am on a variable tariff atm, will go up in April though when cap changes. Is your quote taking into account the rise in April??

11,500KW last year, for hot water, heating, cooking, car and running the pool pump. With the current petrol prices, I am quite happy to be running at almost 100% electric for my daily needs.

On my current tariff that would cost me Β£2300 for the year, I would be happy with that covering car as well.

Strangely enough it's down Β£500 to 3700 today, prices must change daily.
Quote says nothing about April rise.

Strangely enough it's down Β£500 to 3700 today, prices must change daily. Quote says nothing about April rise. Is it a fixed price for a period of time? 54% increase in energy price cap from April.

That quote is 12 month fixed
We were originally with Avro but they went bust and we were put onto Octopus and the Avro fixed deal ended upon being switched.
Been paying through the nose ever since π

Been paying through the nose ever since π Yea, I was with Avro too. All stuff I have been reading on line, from Martin Lewis etc, it to stay on variable tariff atm, fixed are loads more Worth having a quick read of this, lots of other newspapers etc, saying the same, now is possibly not the time to go in to a fixed deal. www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2022/02/energy-bills-set-to-rocket-for-millions-as-ofgem-confirms-new-pr/

No mansion.. just a Victorian semi. Trouble is .. Victorian. When the wind blows itβs no place for the old.
