Looking forward to some glowing reports, well that is before you sell it Well, no? I don't know why I sold the last one tbh, but to go and buy another shows that I am a big fan of the Soekris gear. I can't recall ever selling anything in the past that I have replaced with something the same brand? So this is a first I think.

It's a good looking unit except for that DIN socket on the right hand side. What's that all about?

ah right, ruins the look of it a bit I think. Bloody headphones, that's a fad that should die a death.

no, not a deal-breaker by any means just me being picky.
I see there's some measurements on SBAF but don't look much different to the previous one.
I do want to come down for a listen but am still cautious about getting on a train with the disease-infested masses. And that train to your place is always packed.

I am more than happy to host a session of digitally reproduced goodness, but maybe best to wait until i have the LPSU added onto this 2541. It will also give us time to have a better look at the Covid scenario. You haven't heard these Q Acoustics either....or the Aria, or the Mutec....lol

From what I have read so far, the latest Covid is not as bad as the other variants. If it is true, then it is bloody good news.

Can probably get a cap for the socket if it offends so much.

I think the only thing you have the same as last time I was there is the turntable. And that probably has a different arm and cart on it now.

No piano in the room, Townsend seismic bars....crikey...it's very different.

I have spent a few hours listening to the Soekris this afternoon/early evening. Everything ranging from Thin Lizzy to Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass.
Overall, i genuinely think in stock form it has come out of the box a lot better than the 1421 did. However, the 2541 still has the same issues the 1421 did with the SMPS in. On the soundstage front, the Soekris delivers a fairly deep perspective into the recording. Separation between Ella and Joe is quite superb.
The standout improvement in soundstage when we put the LPSU on the 1421 was scale. At the moment, the 2541 doesn't quite stretch as high as the 1421 did, but it does create experience very well.
Listening to the guitar, the tonal quality is very good. It's believable, and it doesn't draw my attention away with fatness or chunkiness. However, the vocals are a little less "chesty" or "throaty" than the 1421+LPSU produced. I feel the 1421+LPSU really developed this area of it's replay when we did the mod. Something i entirely suspect the 2541 will do to.
The other possible factor could be the Silver cables i am using. I haven't got like for like with Copper at the moment so i will have to make a set of matching AES cables to do a proper comparison.
Last night, i went to bed cursing myself for flogging the 1421, but today i am feeling a little more excited about what could be gained from a LPSU
