We like both. If pushed I would go with the Estelons for looks, but it will be nice to have a change.

The Estelons might look like that now but you should look to the mother to see what they will look like down the line.

jandl100 but they're 'wibbly wobbly'. Is it just the colour you prefer, front on view shape very similar to the XB's?

My photo doesn't do them justice, the Estelons did look very nice and the finish was very good. Very solid and well damped cabinets too.

I've had two separate auditions of the Kii3 I did not think they were unrefined, quite the opposite. I like a refined sound. I reckon I have heard more high-end speakers than most here, also I understand how to relate measurements to sound quality - and value for money. I was designing speakers thirty years ago. It's not my first rodeo I am sure you have very experienced and discerning ears Martins. I Just think we all like different flavours. I think that we definitely like different flavours no question about that. Although it's not an individual thing. Going round shows with people it's surprising how much agreement there is. But there's usually at least one exception. One time we agreed on everything, what was good, what was bad, until the Avant Garde room (big multi-way horns for those not familiar) which I hated but the others loved. Still not sure how that works, but it happens. I don't have discerning ears or experienced ones. Having had some 'pro' exposure I do tend to listen for problems, and that's how I gauge things - not by the level of emotion in Diana Krall's voice. If there's no problems then I'm happy. I think that was the thing about those Avantguardes. I heard all their many issues right away, but the others were noticing how 'live' it sounded and how immediate the instruments were, the size of the soundstage, and so on. Not that they were as rough as a badger's arse. Subtleties in presentation I could not care less about. I reckon over 35 years now I have heard most variations on the mousetrap and for me, ultimately, they either catch mice or they don't, and that's all there is to it.
