Back in Feb something went terribly wrong with my 2 year old Rel S8/12 sub. I do not know what it was, just when it went, Jill and I both jumped out of our skins, one sub was fine, but the identical other made a "clattering" type sound, my though was that it was something to do with the amp, will say what when I eventually find out. Anyhoo, it was bought back to me last night, and during initial setting up, it sounded great. Having one sub was always good, but having another, lifted my music to another level. So while my partner was at hospital, early doors this morning (getting her second round of Radiotherapy), I gave a SACD of Guilmants 1st Organ Symphony (and Orchestra) from the cavernous Liverpool Cathedral... WOW, it was back with vengeance. Oh, we live in a detached bungalow, so no one apart from the passing paper delivery person heard a thing, or at least I hope not

That's a fine piece of music! ... Playing it now. Nice. Although I doubt my system has the bass heft of yours.

Although I doubt my system has the bass heft of yours. when I started back into Hi Fi 4 years ago, my love of organ music was at the forefront of my mind and as such a sub and the Sony BluRay/SACD player were bought specificly for just that genre. Started with the BK XXLS 400 that I gifted to a good friend when I got the first Rel 8/12

Proper subs! I bet they sound awesome. Good that you live in a det. bungalow (we do too), so you can let rip with them I had to settle for a "measly" but more affordable T9i, which is actually quite good. One day... I had considered getting a second sub, but I've nowhere to put the bugger Hope things go alright for your partner, my brother is going through the same thing right now.

Detached bungalows rule!
... but I ain't got no damn subs. I think my mrs would throw both me and the subs out. She can't be having with really deep bass. There's quite a decent low end from my speakers, though.

Her eldest son cannot do bass, as it affects his hearing... just as well we only see him and his wife/kids every now and again

Oh, I can't complain about my mrs. It was her suggestion I bought my MBL speakers. I never even considered it because of the high cost. "What are those weird things?" she asked, peering at my PC screen. "My dream speakers" I said. "Why don't you buy them then?" "They cost about 16k" I said, sadly. ..... "Well, buy them anyway." So I did.
