A short time ago whilst I was wrestling what I could improve in my system (budget wise), I came to the conclusion that having read and done my homework on a new DAC, the highly rated Ferrum Wandla, I saw that my preferred dealer dealt with them. After a couple of tentative E-Mails with him, I was offered the "demo" model he had, at a reasonable cost of £800 fully refundable deposit. I was going to accept, but having just had "something lost in the post", and my doubts about couriers in general being in my head, I had to decline, as I the only luck I get, is bad luck, and while I know nothing would have happened during transit (both ways), I felt very uneasy about the situation, as a slight scratch may cost me £800... Am I overthinking things and being to over cautious?
PS, I have had speakers shipped here on a pallet before, so its not as if I have not had a courier deliver Hi Fi before

if they use a decent courier service it should be fine !!! as long as its not amazon or EVRI !! ups are good and dpd . had lots of high value stuff so have no fear and try it

The dealer should have a regular courier who he has used numerous times, probably over a few years, and trusts to do the job properly. Also, I assume a dealer has insurance to cover such things as damage in transit. I would call the dealer and voice yor concerns, and see how he replies, and if he can offer you some reassurance. If you left a credit card deposit you are covered by insurance, but you can dispute a debit card payment as wel however first port of call should be the dealer.
Any dealer worth the salt or reputation will have insured courier service.
If something smells fishing it usually is imho
